Charging electric cars at home is now easier than ever. Get your home charging point installed now by Wave Renewables Electrician.
Charging your car at home is much cheaper and more convenient than filling up with fuel at the petrol station.
If you have off street parking, we can install an EV home charger at your property. The charger links up to your mains electricity and powers your car through a connector cable. All you need to do is plug your car into the charger and wait for your car to top up.
With home charging you can take advantage of super cheap, green energy overnight. Pair your charger with an EV tariff and you can even tell your charger when to stop charging. That's called smart charging!
What does a standard home EV charger installation include?
We'll use all the info you’ve given to us to make sure we can do a standard install and decide the best logistics for the job.
We'll fit the charger to a brick of plaster wall. Unfortunately we can't mount to things like fences, and fitting a pole will cost extra.
Our standard install includes up to 10 metres of cable, run and clipped to the wall or along a windrow/door frames, between your consumer unit and charger.
We'll connect the charger to the origin of the supply, and fit any necessary electrical components.
We'll do all necessary electrical testing and give you NAPIT certification, as well as showing you how the charger and app works.
We'll check for any grants you may be eligible for to help cover the costs of your charger and installation.
Which vehicles are eligible for the OZEV Grant?
Not all plug-in vehicles are eligible for the grant. All full battery electric vehicles are eligible, but plug-in hybrid vehicles must have CO2 emissions that are calculated to be under 50g/km. So make sure you have the right ev car charger
See a list of OZEV eligible vehicles on the government website.
Please note: you can only claim the grant before the installation of your home charger.
If you live in a rented house with dedicated off-street parking, all you have to do is answer a few simple questions and complete some documents with us while ordering your Solo 3 Charger.
Our team will then do the heavy lifting and claim the grant on your behalf.
If you live in a flat we need to assess whether you can have a charger connected to your flat’s electrical supply and meter, as you may be able to use the same checkout as those renting a house. However, for most people living in flats your charging unit will be connected to a communal supply and meter, in which case we request that you ask your property manager to get in touch with us about our Residential EV Charging Solution.
Please note, your landlord or property manager may also be able to claim an up to additional £500 per bay (up to 60 bays) towards the cost of installing infrastructure for you and your neighbours via the EV infrastructure grant for residential car parks. This grant will reduce the impact on your Service Charge budget and may help to convince your neighbours that EV infrastructure is a priority for your property.
Yes, OZEV Grants are still available to eligible homeowners who live in flats and certain people living in rental housing. Some businesses and landlords/property managers looking to install EV infrastructure may also be eligible.
There is currently no known date for grant schemes offered by OZEV to end. For up-to-date information on each scheme,
