Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and the rights you have over it.
Last updated: October 2026
Wave Renewables ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through waverenewables.co.uk and when you deal with us, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who we are
Wave Renewables is the trading name of Russ Taylor, a sole trader, who is the data controller for your personal information.
- Address: Walcott Road, Bacton, Norfolk NR12 0HJ
- Email: info@waverenewables.co.uk
- Phone: 01692 689303
The information we collect
We only collect what we need. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:
- Contact details - your name, email address, phone number and, where relevant, your address or postcode.
- Enquiry details - what you tell us about your property and the work you need, such as roof type, budget and timescale.
- Property and installation details - photos of the work area, your energy use, and the equipment we fit, so we can design, install, certify and guarantee the system.
- Technical information - our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the website running and secure.
We collect this information directly from you when you fill in our contact form, email, call or message us (including on WhatsApp), or when we visit your property.
How and why we use your information
The law requires us to have a lawful basis for each way we use your information:
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to your enquiry, preparing quotes and arranging site visits | Steps taken at your request before entering into a contract; legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us |
| Installing and maintaining your solar, battery, EV charging or electrical work, and providing aftercare | Performance of a contract |
| Registering and certifying work with scheme bodies and your network operator | Legal obligation; performance of a contract |
| Keeping business and financial records | Legal obligation |
| Running and securing our website | Legitimate interests |
Site visits, certification and photos
To quote for and carry out work, we record your property address, take photos of the work area, and keep records of the installation, certification and any guarantees. Where work must be registered or notified, we share the necessary details with the relevant body - for example MCS, NAPIT (Part P building regulations), your Distribution Network Operator, and the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles where an EV charger grant applies. We may use photos of completed work, without any personal details, on our website and social media. We'll always ask first before showing anything that identifies you or your home.
